It was another good month for the Badger State, as the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development released the latest local job figures for October. The report revealed a decline in unemployment rates across all 12 metropolitan statistical areas (MSAs) last month.
Two statistical areas are located in the region, including the Janesville-Beloit and Madison areas. In Janesville-Beloit, unemployment dropped by 0.2 percent to 3.4 percent, and Madison saw a slightly larger drop of 0.2 percent to 2.5 percent. Madison’s rate is tied with La Crosse-Onalaska for lowest of any MSA.
