According to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics report, the United States added a stunning 353,000 jobs in January 2024. The sectors experiencing the largest growth were the professional and business services sector (+ 74,000), the healthcare industry (+ 70,000), and the retail industry (+ 45,000).

The report also shows that hourly wages increased by 0.6 percent in January and 4.5 percent since this time last year. The January unemployment rate also remained unchanged from December, holding steady at 3.7 percent.

The U.S. economy has continued to exceed expectations, seeing a decline in inflation, low unemployment, and increasing wages, despite talks of a pending recession.
