Wisconsin Becomes Bowl Eligible With Win over Nebraska

In a game that went to overtime, the Wisconsin Badgers gave the home fans something to cheer for in the team’s final game of the year at Camp Randall. The team picked up a 24-17 win over the Nebraska Cornhuskers, moving to 6-5 on the year and in the process becoming bowl eligible. The win also ended the team’s three game skid.

Quarterback Tanner Mordecai threw for 160 yards and a touchdown, his first passing touchdown since returning from injury last week. But the hero of the day was running back Braelon Allen, who ran for 62 yards and two touchdowns, including the game winning touchdown in overtime.

The defense helped keep the badgers in the game, forcing a missed field goal at the end of the first half that kept it a four point game, and forcing an interception in overtime that sealed the win.

Wisconsin will close out the season on the road against 5-6 Minnesota, who need their own win to gain bowl eligibility. The Badgers will look to end the regular season on a high note before awaiting their postseason destination.

A Republican bill would bar local governments from implementing stricter rules than the state already imposes regarding animal welfare, the administration of medications and vaccinations and how animals are used at or after they leave a farm or facility.

How soon should you expect new legislative maps?

The shapes of Wisconsin’s legislative districts for this year’s election are now in the hands of the Wisconsin Supreme Court and its highly paid outside consultants — a decision almost certain to reduce GOP power in the Legislature.
