Wisconsin stayed atop the Big 10 West with a 24-13 win over Rutgers on Saturday, October 7th. The win brought the Badgers to 4-1 on the season and 2-0 in conference play.

The team jumped out to a 17-0 lead at the end of the first and never trailed in the game. Though they received solid quarterback play from senior play caller Tanner Mordecai, and junior Braelon Allen had another strong performance with 100-plus yards and a touchdown, the story of the day was the defense. Just before the half, with Rutgers threatening at the Wisconsin 6 yard line, cornerback Ricardo Hallman jumped a route and took an interception back to the end zone for a 95 yard pick six.

The Badgers face a tough task this weekend as they welcome the 5-1 Iowa Hawkeyes to Camp Randall for a game that will determine the leader of the Big 10 West.
