Wisconsin to expand broadband access

In a significant move to bridge the digital divide, the Wisconsin Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced major investments to provide high-speed internet access to underserved and rural areas across the state. Wisconsin has already spent $200 million to expand broadband access. Next year, the state is expected to receive $1 billion in federal funding for broadband infrastructure.

The PSC projects nearly all areas of the state will have broadband connectivity by 2030.

The broadband expansion is also expected to have a significant economic impact, creating jobs in construction, technology, and customer support. Local businesses will benefit from improved internet access, enhancing their ability to compete in a global market.
