According to new Bureau of Labor Statistics data, Wisconsin’s unemployment rate is down .8 percent in July from a year ago. In July 2021, the state’s unemployment was 3.8 percent and last month unemployment was 3.0 percent. Meaning that currently the state’s unemployment rate is significantly under the national average of 3.5 percent.
Regarding jobs, since June 2021, the Madison area has added 3,000 new nonfarm jobs and in the Janesville-Beloit area nearly 500 nonfarm jobs have been added.
The increase in jobs and lower unemployment numbers are a positive sign for the future of the Rock Valley economy.
